A splattered view

As the rain dappled my apartment window this past weekend, and Eilliot Bay shown silver beyond the brick buildings and scattered autumn trees, I couldn’t help to think how much more I’ll be looking out of windows, through the glass, to see the world as winter sets into the Pacific Northwest. I don’t listen to Jack Johnson much anymore, but one line has always resonated with me: “The wisdom’s in the trees, not the glass window.” I like that line and try to live my life by something to that effect. So this winter, I’ve determined to gear-up and not let the biting cold keep me from the outdoors… Of course, there’s nothing like hot tea, jazz and a good book when it’s pouring outside. But then again, there’s nothing like snowboarding when it’s dumping in the hills.
